Lysosomes appear initially as spherical bodies about 50-70nm in diameter and are bounded by a single membrane. Several hundred lysosomes may be present in a single animal cell. Recent work suggests that there are two types of lysosomes: secretory lysosomes and conventional ones. Plant cells do not have lysosomes but animal cells have lysosomes.
Whether or not these are true lysosomes or some kind of lytic vacuole is still not known. The problem with these small vesicles inside cells is analyzing them. Animal cells do not have plasmodesmata. Plant cells have plasmodesmata, which are pores between plant cell walls that allow molecules and communication signals to pass between individual plant cells.

Current evidence suggests that "YES," some plant cells do contain lysosomes. Many teachers have been taught that plant cells differ from animal cells in this regard. However, there is emerging evidence that, in fact, plant cells do have lysoosmes. Here's a paper from the Journal "Plant Cell," pointing out the existence of an organelle in a Lysosome.

Do plants cells have lysosomes? Plants do not possess lysosomes; however, the role of lysosomes are undertaken by the vacuoles.

Dec 1, 2017 - Peroxisomes play a role in metabolism through oxidation. Plant cells do not have lysosomes, so peroxisomes are used instead for catabolism. For example lysosomes help in cell digestion when cell dies. Vacuoles function is to store water.

What structures does and plastids. Animal cells have lysosomes and centrosomes. For cells to function correctly, each part must do its job. Members of in the plant cell is much larger than the vacuole in the animal cell. What are lysosomes? These cells tend to be larger than the cells of bacteria (prokaryotic); Have a Chloroplast (plant cells only).
